Music of the Philippines (Filipino: Musika ng Pilipinas) include musical performance arts in the Philippines or by Filipinos composed in various genres and styles. The compositions are often a mixture of different Asian, European, Latin American, American, and indigenous influences.

Original Pilipino music, now more commonly termed original Pinoy music, original Philippine music or OPM for short, originally referred only to Philippine pop songs.

OPM pop has been regularly showcased in the live band scene. Groups such as Neocolours, Side A, Introvoys, The Teeth, Yano, True Faith, Passage and Freestyle popularized songs that clearly reflect the sentimental character of OPM pop.

In the new millennium up to the 2010s, famous Filipino pop music artists include Toni Gonzaga, Sarah Geronimo, Erik Santos, Yeng Constantino, and Christian Bautista, among many others.

Here we will showcase the song ” Pasensya Ka Na ” by the well known band SILENT SANCTUARY

Just days after its MYX premiere, Silent Sanctuary’s “Pasensya Ka Na” is already on the MYX Daily Top 10!

It simple talks about a closure of a love story. How the person is confessing what is the feeling of alone, that it’s tiring hence painful but it made that person strong. That person doens’t need his/her loved one anymore. He can stand alone. He/ She longed for love that is so long that’s why he gave up.

Silent Sanctuary is a 5-piece Filipino rock band that was formed in Metro Manila, Philippines in 2001. Five studio albums have been released by the band throughout its career.

Silent Sanctuary was formed in 2001 with three founding members Norman Dellosa (vocals, guitars), Paolo Legaspi (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Allen Calixto (drums). As a growing band, they experimented in their music by mixing in classical instruments to make a unique sound, adding the fourth member, Norman’s high school classmate Anjo Inacay (cellist) to the line-up. In 2002, they were asked to guest in UnTV’s In the Raw where Anjo asked Jett Ramirez to create string arrangements for their performance. More string instrumentalists joined them during that single episode. Later, Jett and Chino David (violinists) were both asked as formal members of the band. In February 2004, they released an independently produced full-length album in Millennia Bar and Cafe in Kamuning entitled Ellipsis of the Mind. Jett Ramirez later on left the band.

Later on in Tondo, Sarkie Sarangay took over vocal duties for the band after Norman Dellosa’s departure. Jason Rondero, vocalist/bassist of indie band New Modern became the band’s new bassist when Paolo Legaspi left the band after the successful debut album called Fuchsiang Pag-ibig.
